The International Music Academy for training of young musicians which was named after the Bulgarian conductor and violinist Sasha Popov- born in Ruse, has been annually held since 1992 within the frames of March Music Days international  festival.

The Academy has been developing as a sustainable initiative within the frames of the festival thanks to the continuous interest in similar forms of training and the exceptional opportunities, which the festival programme gives as an artistic resource, for its thorough progress.

The attractive teaching approach in the Academy specifies the project’s distinction from the standard academic education thus developing in the young musicians a number of additional and important for their personal professional motivation skills which go beyond the musical ones. These skills are relevant to the orientation in a competitive environment, the models of artistic manners, the techniques of self-control and self- estimation.

The Academy, which is situated in a particularly intensive period of the festival, gives the young musicians the rare chance to become a part of a rich and dynamic cultural space – a circumstance that makes the results of its activity really unique.
